The win was clinched by Mikkel Boedker, who beat Jonathan Quick in a shootout to gain the extra point in the standings for Phoenix. Shane Doan (2) and Radim Vrbata (2) each scored for the Coyotes in the victory. Vrbata opened the scoring for Phoenix, finding the back of the net at 0:50 of the second period. The goal was assisted by Martin Hanzal and Ray Whitney.
Mike Smith turned in a 25-save effort for the Coyotes.

Jonathan Quick stopped 25 of 29 shots for the Kings, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
