The battle between the Penguins and Lightning didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Tampa Bay was handed an 8-1 defeat on Saturday at Consol Energy Centre.

Teddy Purcell scored for the Lightning, finding the net behind Marc-Andre Fleury.

Dwayne Roloson stopped 26 of 34 shots for the Lightning, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

Pittsburgh lost the shots on goal battle to Tampa Bay by a margin of 35-34.

Pittsburgh looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Blue Jackets. The Lightning will aim to get back on the winning track at New Jersey.
