Nebraska D pitches second-half shutout to spark victory
The Nebraska defensive unit, after a shaky first half, shut down the Louisiana Tech offense to lead the #20 Cornhuskers to a 49-10 romp over the Bulldogs 49-10 in their season opener at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
Nebraska covered the 25-point spread at home in the win, and the 59 points scored were OVER the posted total of 48.
Zac Taylor passed for 289 yards, three touchdowns and one interception to lead the Cornhuskers. Cody Glenn added 88 yards on 13 carries and one score for Nebraska.
Zac Champion was 22-of-33 for 230 yards, one touchdown and one interception for the Bulldogs, while Johnathon Holland caught seven passes for 139 yards and one touchdown.
