Colorado Falls 5-1 to Penguins - Recap

Pittsburgh cruised to victory on Saturday, earning an easy 5-1 win over the Avalanche at Pepsi Center.

Bettors who backed the Penguins were rewarded as -125 favorites at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 5.5.

Pittsburgh got goals from Richard Park, Steve Sullivan, Arron Asham, Deryk Engelland, and Evgeni Malkin in the victory. Asham opened the scoring at 7:55 of the first period.

Marc-Andre Fleury turned in a 35-save effort for the Penguins.

Colorado got a goal from Matt Hunwick in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 23 of 27 shots for the Avalanche, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Pittsburgh went 0-for-3, while the Avalanche were 0-for-4 with the man advantage.

Colorado outshot Pittsburgh 36-28 in the game.

Next game, Pittsburgh takes its act home to face Phoenix looking for another win. For Colorado, they head on the road to face Minnesota.
