Colorado vs San Jose Recap - Sharks Win 5-1

The battle between the Sharks and Avalanche didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Colorado was handed a 5-1 defeat on Monday at HP Pavilion.

The Sharks were a -168 favorite in the win. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 5.

San Jose got goals from Joe Pavelski (2), Ryane Clowe, Torrey Mitchell, and Andrew Desjardins in the victory. Pavelski opened the scoring at 3:50 of the second period.

Antti Niemi turned in a 31-save effort for the Sharks.

Colorado got a goal from Shane O'Brien in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Semyon Varlamov stopped 31 of 35 shots for the Avalanche, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

San Jose scored 1 time on 4 chances on the power play, while Colorado went 0-for-2 with the man advantage.

Colorado lost the shots on goal battle to San Jose by a margin of 36-32.

San Jose looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Ducks. The Avalanche will aim to get back on the winning track at Vancouver.
