Defending champion Texas off to flying start
Colt McCoy tossed three touchdowns and 177 yards as the #3 Texas Longhorns started the defense of their national title with a 56-7 rout of North Texas at Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
The Longhorns covered the 41-point spread at home, and the 63 combined points were OVER the posted total of 53.
Four different Texas running backs rushed for scores, and Limas Reed had five catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns for the Longhorns.
Woody Wilson was 5-of-8 for 66 yards and one touchdown for the Mean Green, while Jamario Thomas had 37 yards on 14 carries.
