Texas tramples Louisiana-Monroe
The Texas Longhorns started their season with a bang, defeating the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks 59-20 at Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Week 1.
Louisiana-Monroe covered as a 41.5-point road underdog while the final score played over the 60.5-point total.
The Longhorns got big numbers from quarterback Colt McCoy, who finished with 317 yards passing with two touchdowns and an interception. Receiver Jordan Shipley caught 180 yards and scored one touchdown for Texas.
The Warhawks were led by quarterback Trey Revell's 197 yards passing. Running back Frank Goodin rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown.
