Recap - Devils Defeat Florida 4-0

The battle between the Devils and Panthers didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Florida was handed a 4-0 defeat on Thursday at Prudential Center.

The Devils were a -157 favorite in the win. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 5.

New Jersey got goals from Ilya Kovalchuk, Steve Bernier, Zach Parise, and Travis Zajac in the victory. Parise opened the scoring at 6:08 of the second period.

Martin Brodeur turned in a 26-save effort for the Devils.

Scott Clemmensen stopped 23 of 27 shots for the Panthers, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, New Jersey went 2-for-4, while the Panthers were 0-for-6 with the man advantage.

New Jersey outshot Florida 27-26 in the game.
