Tigers surge to win, cover versus Trojans

The Missouri Tigers put up 25 points in the third quarter Saturday to both win and cover versus the Troy Trojans by a 52-21 final score.

The Tigers had been listed as a 20.5-point favorite in this contest. The combined score went well OVER the posted total (48.5).

Tigers QB Brad Smith was good on 24-of-34 pass attempts for 179 yards in the win, rushing for a score himself and tossing a TD strike to Brad Ekwerekwu. Tony Temple, Marcus Woods, and Chase Daniel also ran for Missouri scores, and Woods ran back a punt for a major as well.

For the Trojans, Carl Meadows completed 16-of-28 pass attempts for 202 yards. Meadows connected with Toris Rutledge for a touchdown, and ran for a score in the loss. Larry Dockery threw a touchdown pass to Josh Allen late in the game.
