Calgary vs Vancouver Wrap - Vancouver Wins 3-2

Vancouver earned a 3-2 victory over Calgary on Wednesday, but needed a shootout to do it at Rogers Arena.

The Canucks were a -172 favorite in the win. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 5.5.

The win was clinched by Zack Kassian, who beat Miikka Kiprusoff in a shootout to gain the extra point in the standings for Vancouver. Mason Raymond and Zack Kassian each scored for the Canucks in the victory. Kassian opened the scoring for Vancouver, finding the back of the net at 6:20 of the second period. The goal was unassisted.

Cory Schneider turned in a 34-save effort for the Canucks.

Alex Tanguay and Mikael Backlund scored for the Flames, finding the net behind Cory Schneider.

Calgary got a 34-stop effort from Miikka Kiprusoff in the loss.

On the power play, Vancouver went 1-for-4, while the Flames were 1-for-5 with the man advantage.

Next game, Vancouver takes its act on the road to face Anaheim looking for another win. For Calgary, they head home to face Edmonton.
