Sharks Down Edmonton 3-2 - Match Report

San Jose earned a 3-2 victory over Edmonton on Thursday, but needed a shootout to do it at HP Pavilion.

The Sharks were a -200 favorite in the win. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 5.5.

Dan Boyle potted the shootout winner for San Jose. San Jose got goals from Joe Pavelski and Logan Couture in the victory. Couture opened the scoring at 7:32 of the second period.

Antti Niemi turned in a 26-save effort for the Sharks.

Edmonton got goals from Sam Gagner and Taylor Hall in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Devan Dubnyk stopped 36 of 38 shots for the Oilers, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, San Jose went 0-for-5, while the Oilers were 0-for-3 with the man advantage.

Edmonton lost the shots on goal battle to San Jose by a margin of 38-28.

Next game, San Jose takes its act home to face Nashville looking for another win. For Edmonton, they head on the road to face Colorado.
