Calgary vs Columbus Recap - Flames Win 4-3

The Flames earned a 4-3 victory over the Blue Jackets on Thursday at Nationwide Arena.

Calgary won as a -110 favorite, while Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 5.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

Alex Tanguay, Lee Stempniak, Mikael Backlund, and Roman Cervenka each scored for the Flames in the victory. Cervenka opened the scoring for Calgary, finding the back of the net at 4:19 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Dennis Wideman and Jiri Hudler.

Leland Irving turned in a 26-save effort for the Flames.

Columbus got goals from Vinny Prospal, Mark Letestu, and Matt Calvert in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 26 of 30 shots for the Blue Jackets, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Calgary went 1-for-4, while the Blue Jackets were 1-for-4 with the man advantage.

Columbus lost the shots on goal battle to Calgary by a margin of 30-29.

Calgary looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Canucks. The Blue Jackets will aim to get back on the winning track vs Edmonton.
