Western Michigan Falls 66-63 to Rockets - Recap
Terrance Owens sliced and diced the Broncos defense for 318 yards as Toledo handed Western Michigan a 66-63 defeat on Tuesday at Glass Bowl.
Toledo won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the 12-point spread. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 71.5.
Adonis Thomas rushed for 216 yards, while Morgan Williams added 76 yards in the win. Kenny Stafford and Adonis Thomas added 91 and 77 receiving yards respectively.
Tevin Drake rushed for 71 yards for Western Michigan, while Alex Carder added 16 yards. Alex Carder threw for 548 yards for the Broncos, while receivers Jordan White and Josh Schaffer had 238 and 114 yards respectively.
Toledo outgained Western Michigan 804-635 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 37-32 by the Rockets.
The time of possession battle favored Toledo as their offense was on the field for 39:30, longer than the 20:30 of their opponents.
Toledo looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Central Michigan. Western Michigan will aim to get back on the winning track at Miami (Ohio).
