Penn State victorious in home opener
Anthony Morelli had three touchdown passes as the #19 Penn State Nittany Lions got their season off to a good start by beating the Akron Zips 34-16 at Beaver Stadium on Saturday.
Penn State just barely covered the 17.5-point spread, and the 50 points scored were OVER the posted total of 40.5.
Morelli was 16-of-32 for 208 yards, and Jordan Norwood caught seven balls for 62 yards and a score for Penn State.
Luke Getsy was 22-of-42 for 160 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, and Dennis Kennedy had 59 rushing yards and one touchdown, to go with 50 receiving yards for the Zips.
