San Jose Falls 2-1 to Red Wings - Recap

The Sharks came up short Thursday against the Red Wings, falling 2-1 in a shootout.

Detroit won as a +165 underdog, while Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 5.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

The win was clinched by Damien Brunner, who beat Antti Niemi in a shootout to gain the extra point in the standings for Detroit. Detroit got goals from Patrick Eaves in the victory. Eaves opened the scoring at 6:21 of the third period.

Jonas Gustavsson turned in a 25-save effort for the Red Wings.

Logan Couture scored for the Sharks, finding the net behind Jonas Gustavsson.

San Jose got a 33-stop effort from Antti Niemi in the loss.

On the power play, Detroit went 0-for-2, while the Sharks were 0-for-1 with the man advantage.

Detroit outshot San Jose 34-26 in the game.

Next game, Detroit takes its act home to face Chicago looking for another win. For San Jose, they head home to face Nashville.
