Vancouver Falls 3-2 to Sharks - Recap

The Canucks came up short Tuesday against the Sharks, falling 3-2 in a shootout.

The Sharks were a +115 underdog in the win. The combined score pushed PUSH the total, which closed at 5.

Joe Pavelski potted the shootout winner for San Jose. Scott Gomez and Adam Burish each scored for the Sharks in the victory. Gomez opened the scoring for San Jose, finding the back of the net at 7:42 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Brad Stuart.

Antti Niemi turned in a 36-save effort for the Sharks.

Vancouver got goals from Henrik Sedin and Jannik Hansen in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Vancouver got a 28-stop effort from Cory Schneider in the loss.

On the power play, San Jose went 0-for-3, while the Canucks were 0-for-5 with the man advantage.

Vancouver outshot San Jose 38-30 in the game.

Next game, San Jose takes its act on the road to face Calgary looking for another win. For Vancouver, they head on the road to face Columbus.
