The Houston Cougars racked up 447 yards as they defeated the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles 34-20 at Robertson Stadium on Friday.

The Cougars covered the 5.5-point spread at home, and the 54 points scored were OVER the posted total of 53.5.

Kevin Kolb was 19-for-31 for 261 yards and two touchdowns, while running for 59 yards and a score. Vincent Marshall had seven catches for 92 yards for the Cougars.

Jeremy Young went 17-for-32 for 184 yards and a major, and he also ran for for a touchdown. Damion Fletcher ran 15 carries for 90 yards for the Golden Eagles.
