Recap - Gamecocks Defeat Kentucky 38-17
South Carolina got a 120-yard performance from Marcus Lattimore as a key part of its 38-17 victory over the Wildcats on Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium.
The Gamecocks were a 20-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 51.5.
Connor Shaw completed 15 of 18 pass attempts for 148 yards for the Gamecocks in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Raymond Sanders rushed for 59 yards for Kentucky, while Dyshawn Mobley added 29 yards. Jalen Whitlow threw for 114 yards for the Wildcats, while receivers Demarco Robinson and A.J. Legree had 29 and 25 yards respectively.
Kentucky was outgained by South Carolina 348-243 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 20-16 by the Gamecocks.
The time of possession battle favored South Carolina as their offense was on the field for 31:17, longer than the 28:43 of their opponents.
Next game, South Carolina takes its act home to face Georgia looking for another win. For Kentucky, they head home to face Mississippi State.
