Big 12 title, BCS final slot on line in Texas
The road to the BCS championship game goes straight through Texas where the Longhorns and Red Raiders can drive to the big game or get forced off the road by Oklahoma. The road - along with the BCS picture - will be clearer by Saturday night.
College football betting preview - Texas A&M Aggies at No. 2 Texas Longhorns -35 O/U 68
To say this game is huge for the Longhorns is like saying the BCS system is a tad confusing. The Longhorns are in 3-way tie in the Big 12 South and they may need to crush the Aggies tonight to get into the Big 12 Championship game.
They currently rank ahead of Oklahoma in the BCS rankings, but the Sooners play No. 11 Oklahoma State this Saturday and if they are impressive in a win over the Cowboys, they may move ahead of the Longhorns. [custom:betonline]
The Longhorns rank ahead of the Aggies in terms of per game averages of total yards, passing yards, rushing yards, and points scored. The Aggies have a legit passing offense, ranked 22nd in the nation, but virtually no running game, ranked 1111th.
Neither team is good defensively, but the Aggies are plain bad ranking 113th out of 119 Division 1A teams. That is not good playing Colt McCoy and the high-scoring Longhorns offense.
To keep their Big 12 Title hopes alive, the Longhorns have to avoid being upset by the Aggies for the third straight year. This year Texas A&M is 4-7 ATS and Texas is 8-3.
The total has gone Over in the last 5 road games and are 4-8-1 ATS in their last 13 games when playing Texas. The Longhorns are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games when playing at home against Texas A&M.
Considering that the Longhorns are desperate to stay ahead of Oklahoma in the BCS rankings, they will try to score a ton of points even if it is in the fourth quarter and they have a huge lead.
Huge NCAAF odds where underdogs may cover
Texas A&M Aggies at No. 2 Texas Longhorns -35 O/U 68
As stated above, the Longhorns do have to score a ton of points to win, but their defense is only ranked 53rd in the nation and the Aggies do have a good passing offense.
Syracuse (3-8) at No. 16 Cincinnati -22 (9-2)
The Orangemen come off a huge win over Notre Dame last week and they can play spoiler again if they can win this game, which will keep Cincinnati from winning the Big East title. The Orangemen are only 3-8, but they beat a decent Notre Dame team last week and they also beat Louisville this season.
Fresno State (7-4) at No. 9 Boise State -21 (11-0)
Boise State really has nothing to play for, as even if they win big they win they will still trail Utah in the BCS rankings and the Utes will, probably, get the guaranteed at-large spot for non-BCS conference teams. Fresno State does not have a good defense, ranked 83rd in the nation, but they have a decent offense.
