Big East tournament battles set

The Big East boasts four teams in the Top 10, so the conference tournament odds set today represent some of the biggest betting opportunities of the day. And this is before UConn, Pitt and Louisville even get involved tomorrow.

Big East conference tournament odds

Depaul +8.5 vs. Cincinnati OU 128

Neither team has been friendly to bettors of late, with the Demons just 5-11 ATS in their past 16 and the Bearcats a lame 1-5 SU and ATS their past six.

Of note is the fact that Depaul went 0-18 against Big East competition this year. The college basketball line on this one opened with Cincy as 8.5-point favorites and they look to repeat their win earlier this year over Depaul. The past four meetings have played UNDER the total.

Georgetown -6 vs. St. John’s OU 123.5

St. John’s upset Georgetown last week but the Hoyas know they can sneak into the March Madness bracket with a solid Big East run. But the Redmen are just 1-9 on the road within the Big East.

The past five meetings between these rivals all played UNDER the total.

Rutgers +10.5 vs. Notre Dame OU 138.5

The Irish are favored here on the Big East tournament odds list, but beware their ATS performance against the Scarlet Knights. They are just 1-9 ATS in 10 meetings with Rutgers, an awful, money-losing mark (including failing to cover 14 points two weeks ago).

But Notre Dame ended the Big East on a high note, clobbering St. John’s and playing both Villanova and UConn tough last week.

If you are a college basketball value bettor, you have to look at the recent competition and form and figure Notre Dame can break that nasty ATS run against Rutgers.

South Florida +5 vs. Seton Hall OU 130

The Bulls struggled to a 9-21 overall record this year and they face a Seton Hall that has owned them (5-0 SU and ATS). They lost 75-60 at Seton Hall a few weeks back and are 2-11 SU in their past 13 games.

That is hardly the mark of a team that wants to be included when March Madness odds get set Sunday night.
The Pirates played tough Pitt, Louisville and Cincinnati in the past week, so their level of competition has been much higher – we expect them to clobber the Bulls and advance to the next round of Big East tournament odds.
