Bears Lions Betting Picks from SIA

There was so much NFL betting action on the Bears to cover the spread against the Lions that one sportsbook had to take the game off the board temporarily.

Sports Interaction opened with a line of Chicago -3.5 at Detroit. When it goes back up, at -4 or maybe -4.5, bettors would be well advised to take it anyway, according to Sports Interaction betting analyst Frank Doyle, who makes his picks for Week 13 of the NFL.
Detroit beat Chicago at Soldier Field in the first game of the season but they were different Lions and different Bears to those that will scrimmage at Ford Field on Sunday. Mike Martz has retooled the Chicago offence to balance his plays more and make Jay Cutler into what Cutler has often promised but seldom delivered – a first rank NFL quarterback.

The Lions, by contrast, won’t have Matthew Stafford back until just before Christmas, if that, and there are questions over Shaun Hill’s ability to start too. But what about the Bears and their 3-11-1 ATS in their past 15 December road games? Isn't the total more attractive, given Detroit's recent trend toward the OVER (7 in a row at home)?

This all means that it could be up to Drew Stanton, a three year veteran who’s thrown seven interceptions and one touchdown in his career, to pick apart a Bear defense that’s in the best tradition of nasty Bear defenses. Good luck with that Drew. Chicago -4 or -4.5 at Detroit with Sports Interaction is the pick.

Atlanta is the best team in the NFC now and is looking to lock up home field advantage for the playoffs. The Falcons are -3 point favorites at Tampa Bay this weekend but the tempting bet here is Under 44 total points.

All Atlanta wants to do is win. It’s not interested in making statements. That’s not head coach Mike Smith’s style. The Buccaneers have to win to save their season and, while they’ve been impressive this season, the Bucs haven’t put anyone on their ass. They’ve been brave, but lost all their statement games.

I think that trend will continue this weekend at Raymond James Stadium. Tampa will be brave and tough and resilient, but will get caught in the end. The Falcons will keep it tight and be careful not to beat themselves, meaning the total points will be low. Under 44 total points when Atlanta is at Tampa Bay with Sports Interaction is the second pick of the week.

Kansas City hopes to build on its momentum when the Denver Broncos visit Arrowhead. The Chiefs are -8 point favorites against the imploding Broncos, but the best bet here at Sports Interaction is over 48.5 total points.

The one bright spot in Denver’s year has been its passing game, which is ranked 4th in the league. Part of the reason for this is because Denver is always behind has to play catch-up all the time, but it also means that the Broncos can score quickly if things go their way.

Kansas City is 4th in the League in terms of points scored, but its ranked 24th in defending the pass. When you do the math it makes over 48.5 total points scored between Denver and Kansas City at Sports Interaction a very canny choice for the third and final pick of the week.
