Boxing Betting: June Preview & Odds
Boxing betting action for the month of June includes numerous title matchups and the return of two-time Olympic Gold medallist Vasyl Lomacenko to the ring. Boxing odds are already available at most sportsbooks on fight cards in the first three weeks of June.
On June 7 Miguel Angel Cotto (38-4, 31 KO’s) will be in search of his sixth world title in four divisions when he faces Ring and WBC Middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (51-2-2, 28 KO’s). Cotto is a slim +160 underdog at 5Dimes on their boxing betting lines, while action on Martinez currently comes with a -200 price at Bovada.
Cotto has been unable to win against the big names he’s faced in his career and Martinez is considered to be one of the top five pound-for-pound boxers in the world today. Even at the age of 39, Martinez is at the top of his game and looks like a bargain at that price on the boxing odds.
On June 14 Demetrius Andrade (20-0, 13 KO’s) puts his new WBO Light Middleweight title on the line against No. 1 contender Brian Rose (25-1-1, 7 KO’s). Oddsmakers at Bovada are offering action on the champ at a -1000 price while the best boxing odds payday on the unlikely Rose upset is a +650 offering at 5Dimes.
Andrade’s boxing skills will be on display against Rose and should be the difference in this fight. Rose will have a small puncher’s chance with only 7 KO wins in his career, taking away value on the upset option.
On June 21 two-time Olympic champion Vasyl Lomachenko (1-1, 1 KO) gets another shot at the now vacant WBO Featherweight title when he faces Gary Russell Jr. (23-0, 13 KO’s). This fight is closely handicapped and could go either way. Current boxing betting lines include a 5Dimes +136 option on Russell Jr. and a -139 price on Lomachenko at Bovada.
