Boxing Betting Odds: December Preview
Miguel Angel Cotto gets his chance for long-sought revenge Saturday as he takes on Antonio Margarito in boxing betting action.
World titles will be on the line and the action ranges from mismatches to a couple of bouts that are handicapped close enough to offer some legitimate upset potential.
On December 2 undefeated Martin Murray (23-0, 10 KOs) will attempt to dethrone the WBA Super Middleweight champion Felix Sturm (36-2-1), but oddsmakers at 5Dimes don’t give him much of a chance as the +400 underdog. Sturm is at the peak of his career and will carry a 12-fight unbeaten streak into the ring this Friday night as the -550 favorite.
The following night boxing betting action will be available for 10 fights at various sportsbooks. The fight that most fight fans will be watching will be the rematch between Miguel Angel Cotto (36-2, 29 KOs) and Antonio Margarito (38-7-1).
In Heavyweight action one of the safest options in boxing betting will be available on December 10 when Wladimir Klitschko (56-3) puts his titles on the line against the 39-year-old non-contender Jean-Marc Mormeck (36-4). This one is for the big rolls as Klitschko will cost a whopping -4500 at 5Dimes.
It would make for a nice payday if Mormeck could upset as a +1500 underdog, but it would take a Klitschko first-round injury for that bet to pay off.
On December 17 undefeated WBA Middleweight and WBC Super Middleweight champ Andre Ward (24-0) will get a big test against WBC Middleweight champ Carl Froch (29-1). Ward comes at a decent price at -280 at Bovada while the Froch upset is also a good bet at +260 at 5Dimes.
