Boxing Odds: December Betting Preview
The month of December features some big fights for boxing betting fans with some of the biggest names in the sport in the ring.
The action gets started on December 8 with a rematch as one of the pound-for-pound best in the world Manny Pacquiao takes on Juan Manuel Marquez.
These two fighters fought to a close split decision last year but Pacquiao managed to squeak out the victory. This time around boxing oddsmakers at 5Dimes are offering action on Pacquiao for as little as -260, while the upset offering on Marquez is currently +220 at Bovada.
Pacquiao has not looked as impressive in his last few fights as we’ve become accustomed to seeing in the past and could finally be showing the signs of aging. Marquez gave him a good go in their first fight and could pay out if he can put the pressure on Pac Man in the early going.
On December 15 Amir Khan and Carlos Molina will battle to stay relevant in the Welterweight division. Despite coming off two straight losses Khan will be taking on an unproven up-and-comer and is expected to dominate in a big way. He’s currently a huge -1400 boxing odds favorite, while the unlikely Molina upset will pay +925 at 5Dimes.
On December 22 Steve Cunningham will look to win the IBF North American Heavyweight title with a victory over Tomasz Adamek. Oddsmakers at 5Dimes have Cunningham handicapped as a +270 underdog, while the price on the veteran Adamek sits at -360.
Cunningham has dropped two of his last three fights and will need a special performance to upset the man who has only lost once, to Vitali Klitschko, in his last 17 fights. The two fought to a split decision back in 2008 but Cunningham has not had near the success that Adamek has experienced since then.
