Boxing Odds: March Betting Preview
The month of March will offer boxing betting fans a few key matchups that include IBO Welterweight, IBF Light Heavyweight, and WBO Light Heavyweight title fights.
Action is already available on the March 2 fight between Matthew Hatton (43-6-2) and Chris Van Heerden (18-1-1) as well as the March 9 bout between Bernard Hopkins (52-6-2) and Tavoris Cloud (24-0).
Chris Van Heerden is currently a boxing odds -600 favorite at 5Dimes to defend his IBO Welterweight title for the second time. He will face a fighter that’s coming off two straight losses and is expected to dominate for what will likely be a decision win.
The upset boxing odds option on Hatton is currently handicapped at +400 at 5Dimes and will require a well-placed power shot to pay out. With only 16 KO wins in 51 fights that outcome is a longshot at best.
Bernard Hopkins will look to continue to defy time as he attempts to win yet another world title when he steps into the ring against undefeated Tavoris Cloud. Hopkins is currently a small +145 underdog and stands a real chance of the upset payday.
Cloud will face a tough test against the former multi-division champ but is still a boxing odds -185 favorite to retain his IBF Light Heavyweight strap. Cloud will look to stop his opponent in the early rounds, and value on the champ will decrease the longer the fight goes.
On March 16 undefeated Nathan Cleverly (25-0) will look to defend his WBO Light Heavyweight title for the fourth time, but will have a tough opponent in Robin Krasniqi (39-2). These two are sure to stand and bang as neither fighter is known for backing up during a fight, making this matchup a good option for ending before the final bell.
