Boxing Odds: October Betting Preview
Boxing betting action continues to be available every weekend throughout October.
Scheduled for October are Super Bantamweight and Light Welterweight title bouts that include a couple of champions who haven’t lost a fight in over eight years.
WBO and IBF Super Bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire will be looking to unify the belts by adding Toshiiaki Nishioka’s WBC Diamond title and the vacant Ring belt as the 5Dimes -550 boxing odds favorite. Donaire has fought the toughest in the division and is expected to be too strong for Nishioka.
However, Donaire is taking on a very crafty and dangerous opponent in Nishioka, and may be a bit expensive considering his opponent hasn’t lost a fight in eight years. If you think that Nishioka is skilled enough to upset one of the pound-for-pound best in the world he will currently pay +425 boxing odds at 5Dimes.
Mike Alvarado will look to make a statement by defeating former WBA Lightweight champion Brandon Rios. That’s of course if Rios is able to make weight this time, having missed in his last two fights resulting in his title being stripped away. Rios gets the nod as the 5Dimes -150 boxing betting favorite to beat Alvarado, while the upset option will pay +130.
Later in the month on October 20 undefeated Danny Garcia puts his title on the line in a rematch against past-his-prime Erik Morales. The first meeting between the two ended with a unanimous decision win for Garcia and Morales’ WBC Light Welterweight title.
