Pacquiao vs Horn Boxing Betting Odds

Manny Pacquiao looks to defend his WBO welterweight crown by going into enemy territory and taking on undefeated Australian Jeff Horn. Many are questioning the decision-making process for “Pac-Man” in this one, as he is one of the biggest names in boxing and holds the gold but chose to travel to a younger, talented boxer’s home country to take him on.

Even despite this, Pacquiao is a solid -600 favorite with Horn coming back at +400 according to Sportsbook.

Pacquiao proved in his fight with Jessie Vargas that he still has plenty of quickness despite his advancing age. When you couple that speed with an excellent fight IQ, you can see why Pacquiao can still reign over a division. However, age has zapped some of his punching power and he has become much more measured with his aggressive style.

“The Hornet” is easily the best pound-for-pound boxer from Australia right now, as the former Olympian is 16-0-1 with 11 knockouts. Horn is a tall, long fighter who uses technical acumen more than natural athleticism. Though Horn is undoubtedly a good fighter, this is a major step up in competition for the Aussie with the biggest wins of his career coming against the aging Randall Bailey and Ali Funeka.

Pacquiao should logically win this fight, but don’t be in shock if Horn pulls out the victory. Pacquiao has stacked the deck against himself in this one and is in classic upset territory.
