Mayweather Guerrero Betting Odds

Boxing betting fans are in for a stellar month of squared-circle action in May with numerous big bouts on the schedule – including the marquee matchup of Floyd Mayweather Jr. taking on Robert Guerrero.

On May 4 pound-for-pound No. 1 Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0) will defend his WBC Welterweight title against seasoned veteran Robert Guerrero. Also on the line will be the vacant Ring Welterweight title.

As expected Mayweather Jr. is a heavy boxing odds favorite, but oddsmakers at 5Dimes have an affordable price of -700 on the champ.

Guerrero (31-1-1) has had success since jumping up two weight classes in 2011 but will now face arguably the best Welterweight of all time. As the boxing betting +500 underdog Guerrero will have to utilize his speed and footwork to find a way to beat the champ.

On May 17 undefeated Alexander Povetkin (25-0) is handicapped as a heavy boxing odds -2000 favorite to defend his WBC Heavyweight title against the also undefeated Andrzej Wawrzyk (27-0). Despite the two impressive records handicappers at 5Dimes do not see this matchup close in any way.

Wawrzyk will likely not be able to match up well against the skill and power of the champ and is expected to hit the canvass at some point during the first three rounds. The longshot payday on Wawrzyk will currently pay boxing odds as high as +1000 at 5Dimes, but does not come recommended.

On May 25 Lucian Bute (31-1) will face Jean Pascal (27-2-1) for the vacant WBC Diamond Light Heavyweight title. This matchup is the closest handicapped title fight in May, and could be a contender for fight of the year if both fighters show up ready to battle.

Pascal is currently a slight -130 favorite at 5Dimes, while Bute is handicapped near even at -110. Both have recent losses and are looking to win some new gold, but it will be Pascal who will have 22,000 fans in his corner when the two meet in Montreal.
