In the CFL semifinals there was a big upset and a near upset, as Toronto and Saskatchewan advanced to the next round of the playoffs.
The Argonauts forced five turnovers and beat Hamilton for the first time this season. In the other semifinal game Saskatchewan needed double OT to beat British Columbia, as ex Lions WR Jason Clermont caught a 24-yard TD in extra time to send his former team packing. The loss for BC breaks a string of six straight appearances in a division final.

Sportsbook.ag has Montreal as 10-point favorites in this game with a total of 51.5. Montreal is a 10-point home favorite in this game, but they lost twice this season to Toronto. Can the Argonauts pull off another shocking upset? I would say, no way Jose.
Montreal only lost two games at home all season and they had a week to rest.
Turnovers helped Toronto beat Hamilton, but Montreal does not turn the ball over and QB Anthony Calvillo had 32 TD and only 7 INT this season. Argonauts QB Cleo Lemon has been plagued by INT's this season, which is why Toronto used a very conservative game plan against Hamilton.
That will not cut it against Calgary. Lemon will be pressured all game by the stellar pass rush of Montreal led by DE John Bowman and DT Jermaine McElveen, who combined for 20 sacks this season. Sure, Toronto beat Montreal twice this season, but there will not be a third time since the Alouettes have too many weapons on offense and a great defense. Montreal will win this game easily and cover the 10-point spread and get back to the title game after a 1-year absence. The total has gone UNDER in 8 of Toronto's last 9 games and Montreal is 2-5 ATS in its last 7 games.
Saskatchewan Roughriders at Calgary Stampeders
Calgary is set to be a 7-point favorite in this game at with a total of 55.5. Calgary won two of three games against Saskatchewan this season and they are not only underdogs in this game, but they have a few injury concerns mainly All-star LB Barrin Simpson and CB Omarr Morgan, as both are questionable.
The Roughriders will need their defense to step up against a Calgary offense that scored the most points in the CFL led by QB Henry Burris and RB Joffrey Reynolds. Saskatchewan QB Darian Durant did not look good in the first half of the win over BC, but came on strong in the second half.
He will have to play well for the whole game for the Roughriders to pull off the upset. With the injuries the Roughriders have and with the offensive Calgary has this game will not be that close, as the Stampeders will stomp all over Saskatchewan and cover the spread. The Roughriders will not be making their second appearance in the title game this season.
