CFL Week 5 Betting Preview

The Tiger-Cats were thumped by the Roughriders in Week 1, but they'll get a chance for some revenge on Saturday as those teams meet once again in Saskatchewan to highlight the CFL betting slate for the week. Week 5 action gets underway in Winnipeg on Thursday.

Thu July 26 - Edmonton at Winnipeg, 8:30pm ET
Last 10 Meetings: Winnipeg 4-6 SU, 6-4 ATS | OU 3-7


The Blue Bombers are 0-4 SU and 1-3 ATS on the season, including a 42-10 road loss to the Eskimos as a 1.5-point underdog back on July 13; Winnipeg was edged 25-22 in Toronto in Week 4 to remain winless on the year. The Eskimos take a 3-1 record both SU and ATS into Thursday's contest, and they knocked off the Lions by a 27-14 score in B.C. in their Week 4 outing.

Fri July 27 - Toronto at Montreal, 7:30pm ET
Last 10 Meetings: Montreal 8-2 SU, 7-3 ATS | OU 6-4


The Argonauts and Alouettes will be meeting for the first time this season on Friday night, and both teams are 2-2 SU and 1-3 ATS on the year heading into the game - and tied atop the East standings with Hamilton. The Alouettes are coming off a 39-24 road loss against the Tiger-Cats in Week 4, and they've failed to cover the spread in both of their road games so far this season.

Sat July 28 - Hamilton at Saskatchewan, 6:00pm ET

The Roughriders fell to 3-1 SU on the season but kept their perfect ATS record intact with a 41-38 loss to the Stampeders on the road in Week 4, while the Tiger-Cats are now 2-2 SU and 3-1 ATS on the year after bouncing Montreal. The Riders blasted the Tiger-Cats 43-16 in Hamilton in the Sportsbook game of the season, and all four of the Tiger-Cats' contests have been OVER results.

Sat July 28 - B.C. at Calgary, 9:00pm ET
Last 10 Meetings: Calgary 6-4 SU, 7-3 ATS | OU 5-4-1


The Stampeders and Lions are both 2-2 SU through the first four weeks of the season, with Calgary 2-2 ATS and British Columbia at just 1-3 against the spread. Calgary has been a friend to the OVER bettor so far this season with a 3-1 mark on the totals, while the Lions are just 1-3 on the OVER/UNDER through four games. B.C. is the only team that was favored in each of its first four contests.
