Week 5 CFL Betting Odds

Winless British Columbia kicks off the Week 5 CFL betting schedule by visiting the Blue Bombers on Thursday night.

Oddsmakers at Sportsbook have installed the Lions as 3.5-point road underdogs in this game, with the total set at 52.5. B.C. comes off their fourth straight loss last week, falling 39-31 at home to Hamilton. They were 3.5-point favorites in that game but couldn’t cover the spread, and the 70 combined points sailed OVER the posted total of 50. Coach Wally Buono has been the focus of much speculation in the media, and another loss may force him out.

The week’s second matchup pits Montreal against those same Tiger-Cats, and the Alouettes suffered their first defeat of the year when Anthony Calvillo was knocked from last week's game against Saskatchewan. Adrian McPherson nearly led them back in the fourth quarter, but the Roughriders hung on for their first win 27-24 and covered the 11-point spread as underdogs. The combined 51 points went UNDER the posted total of 56. This week's tilt is currently off the board as Anthony Calvillo’s status has not yet been determined.

Friday night’s doubleheader conclusion has Toronto visiting Edmonton, with the Eskimos 9.5-point favorites at Sportsbook and the total set at 50. Toronto lost its home opener last week at the hands of Winnipeg and fell to 1-3 on the season. The Blue Bombers won as a 3.5-underdog in that game and the combined score of 57 (33-24) sent the contest OVER the posted total of 45.

Saturday’s Week 5 finale has the Stampeders visiting Saskatchewan as a road favorite by 2.5 points at Sportsbook. The total has been set at 53.5 in this one. Calgary has struggled to a 2-2 record so far this season, losing last week's game against Edmonton 24-19. The Stampeders were 4-point favorites but failed to cover the spread. The combined 43 points sent the score UNDER the posted total of 55.5. While the Roughriders have struggled so far this season, they are 4-2 in their last six games against Calgary.
