Week 6 CFL Betting Odds

The 1-4 Toronto Argonauts will kick off Week 6 of CFL betting against the suddenly-vulnerable 3-2 Montreal Alouettes on Thursday night.

Montreal comes off their second straight loss at the hands of Hamilton, a 34-26 decision that saw the Tiger-Cats cover as 3-point home underdogs. The combined 60 points sent the total OVER the posted 53.5. The Argos hope to continue that slide and win their first at home but they are underdogs by 4.5 points at 5Dimes, with the total set at 52.

The highlight game of the week comes in Friday’s first matchup, a battle of division leaders: West-leading Edmonton (5-0) visits the East-leading Blue Bombers (4-1). Oddsmakers at 5Dimes have the Eskimos as slight 1-point road favorites in this one with the total set at 50. Both teams have surprised this season, with Edmonton second in points scored to Montreal and Winnipeg leading the league in points allowed. Edmonton barely kept their win streak intact last week, however, winning a one-point squeaker over Toronto. They failed to cover the 7.5-point spread as favorites in that one, while the 51 total points (26-25) sent the combined score OVER 49.5.

Friday’s second game sees a battle of a different sort with 1-4 Saskatchewan visiting the 0-5 Lions. Oddsmakers at 5Dimes have installed the Lions as 3-point favorites to pick up their first win of the year, while setting the total at 53.5. Last week B.C. lost 25-20 to Winnipeg in a game in which the Blue Bombers covered the 2.5-point spread. The low total of 45 kept the game UNDER the posted total of 52. While B.C. is winless on the year, three of their five games have been lost by five or less points.

Week 6 ends on Saturday with Hamilton visiting Calgary as 4-point underdogs. Oddsmakers at 5Dimes have set the total at 50.5 in this matchup. Hamilton is on a roll of late, winning three straight, and look to keep that momentum going against the Stampeders, who have an identical 3-2 record. Calgary comes off a 22-18 road win over Saskatchewan, a game in which they covered the 1.5-point road favorite spread. The total of 40 went under the posted total of 54.5.
