Oprah Winfrey has been all over the news lately, with her show wrapping up and bumping the NBA's Eastern Conference Finals from the United Center. Now that her show is finally finished, what's next for Oprah?
Even though her national show may be coming to an end Oprah won't be going anywhere. She's already got her new television network, OWN, to play with. At they devised their own list and odds on what Oprah's next move will be.
Topping the list at 2/3 is “Announce she will be acting in a motion picture”. Oprah has done voice work in a few films in recent years, including The Princess and the Frog and Bee Movie, but she hasn't been in front of the camera since Beloved was a box office flop in 1998. Now that she's not filming a daily TV show Oprah would have time to make a movie, and she could finance any movie she wanted so this may not be a bad choice.
Next on the list, sharing 5/1 odds, are “Announce she is running for a political position” and “Announce she is adopting a child”. Unless Oprah suddenly pulls a Donald Trump and starts speculating she'll be running for the presidency in 2012 the political arena is probably not in Oprah's future yet. And if at the age of 57 Oprah hasn't adopted a child it's doubtful it's ever going to happen. But if she was waiting for her show to end before taking the plunge into parenthood, the prop could pay off.
