2016 Canadian Grand Prix Odds

Daniel Ricciardo Lewis Hamilton Red Bull Mercedes

Lewis Hamilton finally made it to the winner’s podium with a victory in Monaco and will hope to keep that momentum going as well as keep a hard-charging Red Bull team at arm’s length as the Formula 1 season moves to Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix.

There was high drama in Monaco two weeks ago as Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo was racing wonderfully before his team called him in for a routine tire change.

Or so he thought.

The pit crew was not ready for said change and the Aussie sat for roughly 20 seconds before he was able to leave the pit with the appropriate set of tires.

Hamilton seized the opportunity, taking the lead while Ricciardo sat helpless. The Brit held the lead from that point on and crossed the finish line to capture his first checkered flag of the 2016 season.

Circuit Île Notre-Dame has been kind to Hamilton over the years and he’ll look to string together victories and get himself within striking distance of teammate Nico Rosberg atop the drivers' standings. Hamilton has won four races in Canada – second most all time – and won here in 2015.

Online shop Bovada is currently listing Hamilton, who won the pole Saturday, as the favorite to win outright at -165 while his Mercedes teammate Rosberg comes in at +325 and Ricciardo can currently be had at +1000.

Ricciardo won here in 2014 and will look for a 25-point haul much like he was on pace for - and frankly deserved - in Monaco two weeks ago.

Red Bull has made strides recently and is right on Ferrari’s heels in the Constructors’ Championship standings. Most notably, Max Verstappen won in Spain in his first ride for Red Bull but he did not finish in Monaco, so he'll be looking to return to the points with a strong showing in La Belle Province.

Hamilton has starred in Montreal over the years and should prove a worthy foe for the rest of the field. Still, this F1 season is shaping up to be a close one and another great drive or two from Red Bull will make things very interesting.
