NBA Championship

What a difference a signature makes - after LeBron James came to town, Miami's NBA title odds soared to 2/1 from 25/1.

His former team wasn't so fortunate as the Cavaliers plunged from 6/1 to 60/1 overnight at .

It is not hard to see why Miami is now the odds-on favorite, as they won the James Collusion sweepstakes and they signed Chris Bosh and re-signed Dwyane Wade.

Boston is not the only team in the East with a Big 3 any more and if Bosh, Wade, and King James can gel they will be tough to beat, but how well they do also will depend on what complimentary players they can pick up.

has the defending champion Lakers at +300 and L.A. has also made some noise in the off-season signing Steve Blake and getting Zen Master Phil Jackson to come back for one more year. Mr. Clutch Derek Fisher is a free agent and while he wants to come back to L.A. he has a meeting with Miami and his loss would be big.

The Heat now have their own Big 3, but Kobe and the Lakers have won the title two years in a row and are still THE team to beat even though they no longer have the best odds to go all the way.

The Magic are at +700 at and they recently signed backup PG Chris Duhon, but may lose sharpshooter J.J. Redick. Unlike other teams in the East the Magic will, pretty much, stand pat with the squad they have, but that ain't bad with Dwight Howard, Jameer Nelson, Rashard Lewis, and Vince Carter.

has the Celtics at +1000 at and they re-signed Ray Allen and Paul Pierce to take another run at the title. The original Big 3 are no longer spring chickens, but they are still solid and helped Boston take the Lakers to seven games in the finals.

The Celtics are also interested in brining in Shaq, which may help Boston since Kendrick Perkins may be out for the beginning of the season.

The Thunder are at +1500 and they re-signed Kevin Durant to a max contract and have a young and exciting team. Durant and the young players should only get better and they will be a force this season in the West.

has the Mavericks at +1500 and they did what they needed to do in the off-season by re-signing Dirk Nowitzki. However, to get out of the West they may need to add another player. Just like Boston Dallas is interested in brining in Shaq to help them down low.

The Nuggets are at +2000 at and to have any chance to get out of the West they need to keep Carmelo Anthony. He is likely not going anywhere, but they need to get some beef down low since Kenyon Martin can’t seem to stay healthy.

Even though the Bulls are at +2500 at and have to get past new look Miami, Orlando, and Boston in the East Chicago may be a good dark horse pick. Sure, they did not land LeBron, but they have a solid core of young talent and added Carlos Boozer and Kyle Korver in the off-season.
