World Cup

After having the second best odds to win the World Cup at +450 in the beginning of June now has them as the favorite at +250. Brazil has played great in South Africa, especially in their round of 16 3-0 over Chile. They face Holland in the quarterfinals and will have to play great defense against a solid Dutch offense. Unlike past Brazil squads they do not have a dynamic offense, but they are great on the counter-attack and controlling the ball in the midfield.
has Spain at +280 after being at +400 three weeks ago. Spain has a great offense and while David Villa has been awesome tied for the lead in goals scored (4) Fernando Torres has looked out of sync. He will have to play well along with Villa in their quarterfinals match against Paraguay and for the rest of the tournament.
Argentina is at +450 at after being at +700 on June 7th. Argentina has looked great and they have yet to lose or even play to a draw in South Africa. They are all about offense and the striker trio of Lionel Messi, Gonzalo Higuaín, and Carlos Tévez will be tough to stop.
has Germany at +700 after being at +1400 at the beginning of the month. The German squad looked great in their opening round win over England and their quarterfinals match up against Argentina is a tough one. The Germans are great at controlling the ball in the midfield and taking advantage of counter-attacking chances. Their defense has been good, but will have to be great against Argentina and their dynamic offense.
Holland is at +750 at after being at +1000 three weeks back. The Dutch are led by their offense with strikers Arjen Robben and Robin Van Persie and Wesley Sneijder in the midfield. They face Brazil in the quarterfinals and they have to score on a solid defense and be wary of the counter-attack, which are the strength of the Brazilian squad. Holland’s offense has not really clicked yet, but if it does they have a real chance to capture their first World Cup trophy.
Uruguay is at +1800 at after being at +15000 on June 7th. They were a surprise winner of Group A and after beating South Korea in the round of 16 match they face Ghana in the quarterfinals. Uruguay plays good defense and have a solid offense with the strikers of Diego Forlan and Luis Suárez.
has Ghana at +4000 after being at +10000 in the beginning of June. Ghana is the only team from Africa to advance to the knockout stage. They are a young squad that is very fast and will have to use the home crowd to their advantage, as they lack the world-class players that other squads left in the tournament have.
Paraguay is at +5000 at after being at +10000 three weeks ago. Paraguay has a tall task making it to the semifinals, as they face Spain in the quarterfinals. Paraguay will have to ride their defense to advance further in the tournament, which is not likely since they are big underdogs against Spain.
Here are the odds at to win the World Cup as of June 30th.
Brazil +250
Spain +280
Argentina +450
Germany +700
Holland +750
Uruguay +1800
Ghana +4000
Paraguay +5000
