CJ Cup Odds & Betting Preview

The PGA Tour takes its act to Asia this weekend when the inaugural CJ Cup gets underway at The Club at Nine Bridges in Jeju Island, South Korea.

The event features an exclusive field of 78 players, with the top 60 available from last year’s final FedExCup standings, the winners of the KPGA Championship and Genesis Championship, the top three golfers from the Korean Tour order of merit, the top available player from the Asian Tour order of merit, the best Korean player from the Asian Tour, the top three Korean players from the Official World Golf Ranking and eight sponsor exemptions.

When it comes to odds lists, Sportsbook has tabbed Justin Thomas (+700) as the favorite, with Paul Casey (+1200), Jason Day (+1200), Xander Schauffele (+1600), Marc Leishman (+2000), Tony Finau (+2000), Patrick Reed (+2800), Pat Perez (+2800), Adam Scott (+2800) and Daniel Berger (+2800) behind him.

This is the first standard event for the tour in South Korea, which creates a three-week swing in Asia as a result. The CJ Cup arrives after a successful Presidents Cup near Seoul, which saw the International team nearly beat the heavily favored Americans.

The 7,196-yard, par-72 course is built on a resort destination and is the only Korean course ranked among the world’s top 100.
