Hero World Challenge Odds & Betting Preview

The top golfers in the world will tee it up in the Bahamas this weekend when the Hero World Challenge gets underway at Albany, which features the long-awaited return of the one and only Tiger Woods.

Bovada has Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson as +600 co-favorites, with Rickie Fowler (+750), Brooks Koepka (+900), Justin Rose (+1000), Hideki Matsuyama (+1100), Henrik Stenson (+1800), Patrick Reed (+2200) and Kevin Kisner (+2500) also in the top 10.

The invitation-only event features the top 18 players in the world rankings competing for a hefty $3.5-million prize purse. Johnson, who’s held the No. 1 position since winning the Genesis Open in February, joins three of 2017’s major championship winners in Koepka (U.S. Open), Spieth (Open Championship) and Thomas (PGA Championship).

The biggest storyline of the Hero World Challenge is undoubtedly the return of Woods. After a nine-month recuperation from his latest back operation, Woods is once again attempting a comeback on the tour. The legendary golfer has made just 19 starts since 2013, including only one in 2017 at the Farmers Insurance Open in January. He posted rounds of 76 and 72 to miss the cut.

Woods is tied with Charley Hoffman and Daniel Berger at +3300 to win this weekend.

It’s no surprise to see Tiger choose this event to return since it’s hosted by him and all profits benefit the Tiger Woods Foundation. Woods played in last year’s Hero World Challenge and finished in 15th place, 14 shots out of the lead.

With a litany of starry names in the field, Tiger is going to have his work cut out for him. Here’s the shop’s full odds list:
