Honda Classic Odds & Betting Preview

The PGA Tour shifts from the West Coast to the East Coast this week for the ever-dramatic Honda Classic, where a deep field is set to put on a show in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

At Bovada, defending champion Adam Scott is the outright +1100 favorite, with Sergio Garcia (+1600), Rickie Fowler (+1600), Justin Thomas (+1600), Daniel Berger (+2500), Russell Knox (+2500), Louis Oosthuizen (+3300), Gary Woodland (+3300), Paul Casey (+3300) and Thomas Pieters (+3300) also in the mix atop odds lists.

Twelve of the top 25 in the current World Golf Rankings will take center stage at the PGA National Golf Club. Scott outdueled Garcia in the final round a year ago, claiming a one-stroke victory that ended a two-year drought for the Aussie. The win was especially impressive considering it came right after Scott was forced to give up the “broomstick” method and play with a regular short putter after the former was forbidden.

This event is no walk in the park, as the course features a litany of bunkers with water in play on 13 holes. In the 10 years the Honda Classic has been staged at the venue, the eventual winner has reached double digits under par on two occasions.

Consistent success off the tee is not vital to win the Honda Classic. Hitting the greens with relentless frequency is much more important, as seven of the last eight champions have ranked inside the top 10 for greens in regulation.

Golfers who aren’t adept at playing in breezy conditions should be a stay-away for bettors. Due to its seaside setting, the tournament often features high winds which often equates to frustration for players who struggle in inclement weather.

Here’s a look at the book’s full odds. Who are you putting your money on?
