Waste Management Phoenix Open Odds

While the Super Bowl will undoubtedly dominate the sporting calendar this weekend, a loaded field will descend upon Arizona’s capital city for the Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale.

One of the most popular stops on the PGA Tour, the Phoenix Open is headlined by 23-year-old Jordan Spieth. The Texan is a +800 favorite to win it all, with Hideki Matsuyama (+1000), Justin Thomas (+1100), Jon Rahm (+1600), Phil Mickelson (+2500), Brooks Koepka (+2800), Bubba Watson (+2800), Ryan Moore (+3000), Patrick Reed (+3300) and Rickie Fowler (+3500) rounding out the top 10.

Best known for its raucous crowds, the Phoenix Open sounds more like a football stadium than a golf event. The rowdy 16th hole par 3 is the highlight of an exciting back nine that features many drivable holes and forgiving fairways.

Being a bomber off the tee is not a prerequisite to win the Phoenix Open. Hitting plenty of greens and being accurate with the flat stick is much more important, as the last six champions have all ranked inside the top seven on the Tour for par-4 scoring.

Matsuyama, who edged out Fowler on the fourth extra hole of a sudden-death showdown last year, is a great bet to do it again. The native of Japan is one of the hottest players in the game right now, having placed in the top three in four of his six appearances in the 2016-17 season.
