The Memorial Odds Preview

The Memorial at Muirfield Village and Tiger Woods is back to defend his title that he won last year and he is also the golfer with the best odds.

The Memorial has a solid field this week and when can it not be solid with both Tiger and Phil Mickelson in the mix?

Tiger Woods is at +600 at Bovada to win this weekend and while he has yet to win this season he has won the Memorial 4 times so he should be comfortable there. He did come in third at the Masters and it will be interesting this week if he can put it all together and win his first tournament of the year.

However, after withdrawing from the Players’ Championship with a neck injury he recently revealed he is not 100% heading into this event.

Bovada has Phil Mickelson at +800 and he has the second best odds to win even though he failed to make the cut last week at the Crowne Plaza Invitational. He has the Green Jacket this season and in his last five Memorial tournaments he has finished in the top 20 every time.

Ernie Els is at +1200 at Bovada and maybe his odds should be higher. The Big Easy has already won twice this season, won the Memorial in 2004, has only missed one cut in 16 Memorial tournaments, and has nine top 15 finishes at Muirfield Village.

Bovada has K.J. Choi at +1500 to win at Muirfield Village and he has played well there winning in 2007. He has been very consistent this season and was tied for 13th last weekend and that was even with a quadruple bogey on Saturday. He has the distance and the putting to do well this weekend and he may be a good pick.

Steve Stricker is at +2000 at Bovada to win the Memorial and even though he is 10th on the PGA money list and has won this season he has not finished inside the top 30 in his last three tournaments.

Bovada has Jim Furyk at +2000 and he was the runner-up at the Memorial last year. He won the event in 2002 and has played the course very well with 10 top 25 finishes in 14 starts. Furyk has won twice this season already and has the game to win this weekend.
