Today, Bodemeister is 5/1 and a likely candidate to be the morning line favorite on the first Saturday in May.
Bodemeister destroyed a good field in the Arkansas Derby, winning by nearly 10 lengths.
But he still sits behind Union Rags for the current shortest Derby odds (who is 9/2 despite struggling in his last outing).

"Union Rags got stuck in the Florida Derby and nobody believes that was his best effort," said Jack Randall. "That's why racebooks like are keeping at the top and why the wagering action continues to be brisk on him."
Undefeated Gemologist is next at 7/1 while Dullahan, another late crasher who won last Saturday in the Blue Grass at Keeneland over Polytrack. He chased down Juvenile winner Hansen in that race, a result that nudged Hansen down a few spots to 14/1.
Creative Cause remains the top pick of handicapper Mike Dempsey (who offers his Derby Day picks at a terrific price).
