Game On Dude comes into the Classic this year perfect in five starts, his most recent start a victory in the Pacific Classic (G1) at Del Mar on August 25. The race was a Breeders’ Cup Challenge “Win and You’re In” race which earned the gelding a fees-paid trip to Santa Anita Park.

In 2011, the gelding ran second at odds of 14-1 behind upset winner Drosselmeyer, and last year was a disappointing seventh as the beaten favorite.

A victory in the Classic likely will earn Game On Dude Horse of the Year honors. A loss and the honor could go to Wise Dan, who is headed to the Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1), or Princess of Sylmar, who will be one of the betting favorites in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1).
