Say Uncle: Breeders Cup Classic Odds
Uncle Mo had been an early Kentucky Derby favorite but he was scratched and never challenged for the Triple Crown.
That was then and now he is expected to be a morning line favorite in the Breeders’ Cup Classic odds menu when the marquee race goes off Saturday.
In head-to-head matchup odds posted by online racebook Bovada, he is a 5/7 favorite to finish ahead of filly Havre de Grace, who is even money at 11/10. Now that the post positions for the $5M Breeders’ Cup Classic have been drawn, the strategizing now begins!
What do these starting positions mean for the favorites and the longshots? Uncle Mo, the race’s first choice, will have to contend with outside post 12 of 13 – but his speed will serve him well going into the first turn.

Havre de Grace, who is attempting to become the second female horse to win the Breeders’ Cup Classic, will be contending with post 10. Not known as a particularly quick starter, Havre de Grace will depend on jockey Ramon Dominguez to steer clear of traffic troubles early on.
Expected pacesetter Game On Dude will break from post 8, which suits his front-running style. And breaking from extreme inside post 1 is longshot Prayer for Relief, whose odds of winning the Breeders Cup Classic do not improve with that unlucky draw.
1. Prayer for Relief (30-1) Scratched.
2. Flat Out (7-1)
3. Drosselmeyer (25-1)
4. Ruler On Ice (20-1) – Won Belmont Stakes
5. So You Think (5-1)
6. Ice Box (50-1)
7. Rattlesnake Bridge (40-1)
8. Game On Dude (10-1)
