Italian soccer odds favor bettors

While Inter Milan won this weekend, the other premier teams in Italy’s Serie A had trouble. And that has been great news for soccer bettors looking play underdogs.

AS Roma lost to Siena 1-0 away, Juventus lost at home to Palermo, and AC Milan drew 0-0 at Cagliari. OK, so the Roma game was no huge shock, as Siena is never an easy place to win, but the other games were quite a shock.

It’s a strange turn of events for soccer bettors accustomed to seeing the top teams cover spreads and earn cash for bettors.

Juventus is currently playing in the Champions League, but they are sitting in 11th place in Series A and losing at home to Palermo will, obviously, not help them move up in the league standings. Palermo currently sits in 4th place in the league, but they do not have near the quality of the Juventus side and they played in Torino.

Oh, hard times for AC Milan, as the 2006-2007 Champions League winners are currently in the UEFA Cup and are in 8th position in Series A. So they are only 3 points out of the top spot in the league, but they missed out on a golden opportunity to move up in the standings after playing to a 0-0 draw to Cagliari.

The game was in Cagliari, but the home team has a grand total of 1 point in 6 games and is winless in the league.

Champions League odds

In the Champions League last week both Inter and Juventus played to a draw and AC Milan won their UEFA Cup game, but they should being in the minor league of European soccer tournaments.

These teams need to get back on track, as they are starting to lose their luster and other teams believe they can beat them. AS Roma had an impressive win at Bordeaux, but they currently sit in 14th place in Series A.

The age-old debate is, which league has the best soccer in the world - the Italian Series A League or the English Premier League? When looking back on the past year and in recent games you have to say the Premier League.

Three of the last four teams in the Champions League were from England and this year, Italian teams have looked far from impressive in both their domestic league and in the Champions League.

Soccer betting odds have never been more favorable.
