Manchester United wins, Roma and AC Milan play to draw

Man U needed a win to reel in Chelsea in the English Premiership standings and they got it with an emphatic victory. It makes the EPL future odds situation a little more interesting with the Reds joining Liverpool and Chelsea near the top of the table.

EPL odds and recap

In a crucial match at Old Trafford, Manchester United crushed Chelsea 3-0. The win pulls Man U within one point of Chelsea for second-place in the Premier League with two matches in hand and if they win against Wigan on Wednesday they will only trail Liverpool by two points.

In the current standings, Liverpool leads the Premier League with 46 points, Chelsea is in second place with 42 points, and Man U sits in third place with 41 points.

In the Sunday late afternoon match, Man U handed Chelsea their worst loss at Old Trafford in 15 years. Check out the latest EPL odds at

Nemanja Vidic gave the hosts a 1-0 lead in first half stoppage time. Wayne Rooney extended the lead to 2-0 in the 63rd minute and Dimitar Berbatov scored an easy goal in the 87th minute off a free-kick from Renaldo to make the score 3-0, which would stand.

Chelsea had their chances throughout the game, but their finishing was weak and they could not put one past Man U goalie Edwin van der Sar.

Even though Man U won in convincing fashion with the 3-0 victory the game was close, as Man U barely led in time of possession 52% to 48% and they only out-shot the visitors 14 to 11.

Serie A odds - AS Roma and AC Milan play to 2-2 draw

In an important Italian Series A match AS Roma and AC Milan played to a 2-2 draw on Sunday evening. The game was especially important for Roma, who currently sit in 11th place in their domestic league with 24 points, while AC Milan is in third place with 34 points.

With the draw Milan now sits 9 points behind league leader Inter Milan.

The draw actually benefitted Inter Milan, as the league leaders played to a surprising 1-1 draw at home against 13th place Cagliari on Saturday afternoon.

One of the surprises of the game was that David Beckham started for AC Milan and played 89 minutes in his Series A debut.

Mirko Vucinic gave Roma a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute and that score would stand going into the half. In the second half Pato scored twice within five minutes (48th minute 53rd minute) to give the visitors the 2-1 lead. However, Vucinic tied the score in the 73rd minute to deny AC Milan their first win on the road since October 26.

In looking for the stats of the game, Roma had many more chances out-shooting Milan 25 to 14, but Milan had the advantage in time of possession 60% to 40%.

AS Roma will have to have a great second-half of the season to remain in the top four in the league and automatically qualify for the next Champions League. Roma is still alive in the current Champions League, as they begin the knock-out phase on February 24th against Arsenal in a tough away match.
