Giants Can't Get Past The Diamondbacks

The struggling San Francisco Giants will try to avoid being swept by the Arizona Diamondbacks Thursday. The Giants, who have been outscored in the series 16-8, have lost seven of their past eight games while allowing six runs per game.

Shark Bites
  • Paul Goldschmidt has reached base safely in 21 of his past 22 games against the Giants.
  • The UNDER is 9-1 in the past 10 games between the Diamondbacks and Giants.
  • The Diamondbacks are 9-1 in their last nine games in San Francisco.

Johnny Cueto will hope to continue his solid start when he tries to stave off the elimination for the Giants. The Giants have gotten what they wanted from Cueto after inking the pitcher to a six-year, $130 million contract this offseason, as the righty has held opponents to one earned run in two of his three outings while pitching at least seven complete innings in each start.

The Diamondbacks will start Shelby Miller, who has been a bust in the desert after the team sent a king’s ransom of prospects to the Braves to obtain the pitcher. Through three starts this season, Miller has an 8.53 ERA while giving up five home runs.

Opening Odds & Computer Pick

San Francisco was a -175 moneyline favorites earlier in the day at BetOnline, based on the starting pitcher matchup. That pairing made odds makers at 5Dimes pick an opening over under number of 7.

Odds Shark computer score prediction models pick a possible 4.7-3.8 win for the Diamondbacks on Thursday. View the computer score prediction and who will win the pick on the moneyline for all upcoming MLB matchups here.
