Indians Continue to Reward Runline Bettors

Now at 16 games, the Indians’ winning streak is approaching historic levels. They haven’t just been winning games, though, they’ve been cashing the runline as well and they’ll have another opportunity to do so this afternoon when they take on a pitcher who will be making his first major-league start of the season for the Orioles.

SHARK BITES
  • The Indians are 15-1 on the runline during their 16-game winning streak.
  • The Orioles are 1-8 on the runline in their last 9 games.
  • The Indians have scored at least 5 runs in 8 straight games and have a team ERA of 1.67 in September.

Some guy named Gabriel Ynoa (3.68 ERA) will anxiously toe the rubber today in his first starting action for a team that’s still in the playoff hunt. The pressure will be high with Baltimore’s hope fading and Ynoa’s numbers are not encouraging. The DR native has accumulated a WHIP of 1.61 in 33 career innings pitched and he’ll likely be on a relatively short leash this afternoon.

The Tribe will send out Josh Tomlin in the contest for his second start since coming off the shelf last week and he’ll be looking for another performance like he put forth his first game back when he allowed just one run to the Tigers in 5.1 innings of work. Before landing on the DL, Tomlin had been pitching wonderfully and his 2.35 ERA since the all-star break is only .05 points worse than Corey Kluber’s.

It seems crystal clear what you should do with your money in this one given the trends and the pitching matchup but it’s up to you to pull the trigger – I know the bet I’ll be making.
