Hall of Fame Steroid Odds Update
Sammy Sosa and Barry Bonds each hit a ton of long shots, but now they are longshots to enter baseball's Hall of Fame.
Count Roger Clemens in that group, as baseball writers get ready to vote on the 2013 class.
Oddsmakers at Bovada set 10/1 odds on any of those suspected steroid cheats from earning first-ballot induction to Cooperstown.
Bonds is the game's home run king and Sosa is close behind. Those players, along with Mark McGwire, became hulksters in the late 1990s, shattering home run records. All have been painted with the PED brush, although none has ever admitted to steroid use and none were actually caught.
So Bovada asked the question on their website and set 10/1 odds on the 'yes' bet.
"Normally, all there would be sure bets, but committees have not been kind to those tainted by the Steroid Era," said Mark Presley of OddsShark.com.
Will either Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, or Sammy Sosa be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame as a first time candidate?
