MLB Power Rankings: July 4

The New York Yankees have slipped ahead of the Boston Red Sox and taken over top spot in the first July edition of the MLB Power Rankings.

The Yankees, who enter the week in first place in the AL East division standings as well, became the first American League team to hit 50 wins over the weekend. The Red Sox, though, do head into the week on a four-game winning streak, and at just 1.5 games behind New York in the AL East could retake top spot in both the division and the Power Rankings before next week's All-Star Game.

Or, both those club could fall behind the Phillies, who boast the best record in baseball right now but sit just third in the MLB Power Rankings. The Brewers and Giants, both division leaders as well, round out the rankings' current Top 5 teams.

The Braves, Rangers, Athletics, Reds, and Blue Jays make up the rest of the Power Rankings Top 10, while the Diamondbacks, Padres, and Twins hold down the bottom three spots on the list. Here's a look at the updated MLB Power Rankings for July 4 . . .
